ARCHIVAL PERMANENCE
JUNE 26, 2026 - AUGUST 30, 2026
Stored in flat files, hung on office walls, or dispersed throughout private collections, the works gathered in Archival Permanence reemerge after more than a decade out of public view. Drawn from the history of Royale Projects' exhibitions, collaborations, and private holdings, this collection offers a rare opportunity to revisit pivotal moments in the careers of artists who have shaped the gallery's program since its founding.
Archival Permanence brings together artists currently represented by Royale Projects alongside those from earlier chapters of the gallery's history, as well as artists the gallery has long championed but has yet to formally exhibit. Together, these works reveal an ongoing dialogue that has informed Royale Projects' vision over the past decade. Their shared visual language reflects the gallery's enduring commitment to abstraction and conceptualism.
The exhibition takes its title from the language of preservation. In archival practice, permanence describes an object's capacity to endure through time without losing its integrity. Here, permanence extends beyond the physical artwork to encompass the ideas, relationships, and histories embedded within them. Seen together, these works function as both archive and living record, tracing the evolution of a gallery shaped not only by exhibitions, but by sustained conversations between artists, collectors, and community members.
